Neroli hydrosol (aka neroli water) is a by-product of distilling the oil from the blossoms of the bitter orange tree. Essential oils can be caustic and should be used in small amounts and only when needed. Floral waters have the scent (aromatherapy attributes) without being caustic. Don’t let these beautiful waters fool you; they are powerful skin allies. But beware all “floral waters” are not real. Read the label: If it says distilled or any other kind of water with essential oil or fragrance added, it is not a real floral water. It needs to say pure (e.g., rose, neroli…) hydrosol or distillate.
