Homemade Face Toner for Dry Skin

Dry skin usually lacks moisture, and since an oily film on the skin surface locks moisture underneath it, thick, oil-rich ingredients are suitable for drier skin.

Face Toner for Dry Skin Recipes

a.) Cucumber Moisturizing Toner

Almond milk together with other moisturizing ingredients such as honey, cucumber juice, and glycerin are amazing solution for dry skin, and these ingredients make the toner a perfect balance for your skin needs. When come to diy skin care products, you should make sure buying organic, which to make sure your ingredients do not contain unwanted substances like antibiotics, hormones and pesticides.

DIY Face Toner for Dry Skin

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 English cucumber (juice)
  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • 1 oz (30 ml) of rose water
  • 1 tsp of vegetable glycerin
  • 1 tsp of honey

Note:

  • You can substitute the cucumber juice with Aloe vera juice, and rose water can be substituted with 1 tablespoon cologne.
  • You cam make cucumber juice by using juicer and filter for the cucumber juice.

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Mix cucumber juice with the almond milk in a bowl. Put rose water in a double boiler heat over low heat;  add the honey and stir to dissolve, then followed by glycerin and again stir to mix.
  2. Pour over the rose water mixture to cucumber juice mixture and stir to mix well.
  3. Set aside to cool. Then transfer the toner to a clean bottle.
  4. You can keep the toner in the refrigerator for about 1 week.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Always shake before using. Pour on cotton ball and apply to the cleaned face and neck before bedtime.

 

b.) Almond and Olive Toner

Olive and avocado in this formula are heavier oils which provide great moisturizing to skin, they are always good choice in skin care for dry skin. Olive oil is rich in unsaturated fatty acids, and its consistency provides durable protection against aggressive weather and moisture loss. Try to include the evening primrose oil to your ingredient list, as it confers anti-aging properties to this formula.

Olive Oil

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • ½ cup of distilled water
  • 1 oz (30 ml) of olive oil
  • 1 oz (30 ml) of rose water
  • 20 drops (1 ml) of evening primrose oil (optional)
  • 10 drops (0.5 ml) of vitamin E

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare a clean bottle and add the almond milk and distilled water, followed by the rest of ingredient, shake to combine all ingredients. Store your toner in the refrigerator for up to a week.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Always shake the bottle vigorously before using. Apply the toner to the face and neck with a cotton ball or disk in the evening.

c.) Almond and Rose Toner

This toner is very easy to diy and effective to skin. Jojoba oil is the great ingredient helps to moisturize and soften skin without leaving an oily residue. That is mainly because of the composition of jojoba oil is very close to that of skin oils. That is why jojoba always can be found in the ingredient list in skin care products.

Rose Water

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup of almond milk
  • ½ cup of rose water
  • 1 tbsp of jojoba oil
  • 1 tsp of glycerin
  • 10 drops (0.5 ml) of vitamin E

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare a clean bottler and pour the almond milk and rose water into it, followed by the rest of the ingredients. Gently shake to mix well.
  2. You can keep this toner in the freezer for up to a week.

HOW TO APPLY

  1. Always shake before using. Soak a cotton ball with this toner and wipe the face and neck daily.

 

d.) Aloe Vera and Rose Toner

Rose is naturally antiseptic and anti-inflammatory, it helps to tighten pores on your skin, make the skin feeling smooth and hydrated. It also contain calming properties, which can help to soothe rosacea and eczema. Aloe vera juice contains hormones that have wound-healing and anti-inflammatory effects and also moisturizing your skin. Glycerin  is a humectant, which means it can hold moisture in the skin which is perfect for dry complexions.

Aloe Vera and Rose Toner

INGREDIENTS

  • 3 1 ⁄ 2 fl oz (100ml) mineral water
  • 1 tbsp of dried rose petals
  • 1 tsp of glycerin
  • 1 tsp of aloe vera juice

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Prepare a clean glass bowl and place the rose petals, pour in the boiled mineral water. Leave to steep for 10 minutes, this step is to make the rose petal infusion. Then strain.
  2. Slowly add the glycerin and followed by aloe vera juice to the infusion, and stir to mix. Transfer to a bottle. Set aside to cool, and seal with a cap.
  3. Store in the refrigerator. Keeps for up to 6 weeks.

  1. Always shake before using. Pour on cotton pad and apply to your face and neck, avoiding the eyes.
