Homemade deodorant without baking soda

Recipe 1:

Ingredients:

  • 6 tablespoons of coconut oil
  • 6 tablespoons of Shea butter
  • 4 tablespoons of diatomaceous earth
  • 4 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
  • 5 drops of vitamin E oil

Method:

Melt the oils on low heat over the stove in a double boiler or pot, and stir them until they have formed an evenly mixed liquid. Turn off the heat and then allow the mixture to cool a little before adding the arrowroot, diatomaceous earth, and vitamin E oil. After adding those, mix the concoction and pour into container of choice so that it can solidify.

And there you have it—a great recipe for sensitive skin, completely free of baking soda.

The diatomaceous earth and vitamin E oil are extra ingredients to give your skin a boost of useful nutrients.

Recipe 2:

This recipe makes use of beeswax, which is a great ingredient to use on flaky, dry and sensitive skin.

  • 6 tablespoons of beeswax
  • 6 tablespoons of arrowroot powder
  • 2 tablespoons of cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon of honey

Method:

For this recipe, you will need to heat the coconut oil and beeswax on the stove and stir. Then remove from heat and add the arrowroot powder and cornstarch, mixing those in thoroughly. Lastly, add the honey into the mixture before pouring it into a container. It will form a solid deodorant.

Honey has anti-inflammatory properties, which makes it ideal in a deodorant for people with sensitive underarms (or whichever part of the body you wish to use it on). It also has antioxidant properties, so it will improve the quality of your skin, not to mention it smells divine!

If you aren’t a fan of honey’s scent, feel free to remove it and use essential oils instead.
