Easy Soap Making With Melt And Pour Method

Soap is a must-have item for every home, but it is not known if the soap you buy contains any harmful synthetic ingredients that may not be good to your skin. In fact, we can DIY soap, not only can save money, it also ensure the safety and healthy for our skin. And the other advantage is that once you do it, the quantity you make enough to use for the whole year.

Melt and Pour Soap Recipes

1. Lavender – Coconut Goat Milk Soap

Ingredients:

  • 1Lbs pour and melt goat milk soap base
  • 1/4 cup of coconut oil
  • Dried lavender flowers

Directions:

  • Cut the melt and pour soap base into small squares so it melts faster.

  • Melt the goat milk soap base completely in the microwave for about 30 seconds  or double boiler on the stove.
  • Pour 1/4 cup of coconut oil into the melted milk soap base and stir.

  • Stir until the steps 2 ingredients fully mixed, then add 15 drops of lavender essential oil and a bunch of lavender, which can add the fragrance to the soap (depending on your preference)
  • Pour all the mixture into the prepared soap mold. You can add some lavender flowers on top to decorate it.
  • Spray the soap in the mold with rubbing alcohol to remove any air bubbles if needed.
  • Finally put it into the freezer or it can be naturally solidified outside.
  • Allow the soap to set for several hours or overnight until it is hard.

  • After the soap sets remove the soap from the mold by pressing on sides of mold to loosen the soap from the soap mold.

2. Oatmeal – Honey Goat Milk Soap

Ingredients:

  • 1Lbs melt and pour goat milk soap base
  • 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric
  • Colorants

Directions:

  • Cut the melt and pour soap bar into small squares so it melts faster.
  • Melt the goat milk soap base completely in the microwave for about 30 seconds  or double boiler on the stove.
  • Color the soap by using soap dye. Add 1/2 teaspoon of turmeric to the melted goat soap base to turn the soap into golden yellow and add fragrance oil if you like. Stir until well mixed.

  • Grind 3/4 cup of oatmeal in blender and pour the stirred mixture from step 2 into  the blender.
  • Finally, add 2 teaspoons of honey and grind again. Pour into the mold, sprinkle some oatmeal on the surface as an embellishment, and put it into the freezer for 1 hour.

  • After the soap sets remove the soap from the mold by pressing on sides of mold to loosen the soap from the soap mold.

3. Exfoliating Loofah Soap

Ingredients:

  • 1Lbs melt and pour goat milk soap base
  • Loofah sponges
  • Lavender essential oil

Directions:

  • Cut the melt and pour soap base into small squares so it melts faster.
  • Cut the loofah bar into about 1/2 inch wide and placed in the mold.

  • Melt the cut small pieces goat milk soap base completely in the microwave for about 30 seconds (or double boiler on the stove). Slowly stir and then added with essential oil.

  • Smell the mixture to make sure it’s scented enough for you and then pour on the silicone molds.

  • Let it sit for two to three hours to harden and you can remove it from mold.

One of the advantages of the above melt and pour method is the soap is ready to use as soon as it cools. Enjoy!

4. Citrus Soap

Ingredients

  • 1 1/2 cups of goat milk soap base
  • 3-4 lemons (lemon zest)
  • 4-6 drops of lemon essential oil

Directions

  1. Cut the soap base into smaller cubes for it to melt faster.
  2. Melt the soap base completely in the microwave for about  1 minute.
  3. Put all the lemon zest and few drops of the lemon essential oil, stir to mix.
  4. Pour the mixture into the soap mold and set aside for about 2-3 hours until the soap hardens.
  5. Now you can easily remove the lemon soap from mold.
